Yes, buy now is a way to make sure you get that special something without needing to follow the auction or wait until it ends. For objects with buy now available, you can buy right away.

When and where it’s available

Buy now is only available for some objects. Sellers can choose whether they’ll offer the buy now option for their objects.

For objects with buy now available, you’ll see this option on the object page near the bidding options.

Buy now is available until bids reach the reserve price or buy now price, or until 24 h before the auction ends. 

How paying works

When you select buy now on the object page, you’ll go to checkout where you can choose your payment method and pay for the object.

For instant payment methods like credit card or iDeal, others can still bid on and buy the object until you pay for it. This means if you’re at checkout and someone else uses buy now and pays before you do, they will get the object. The object is only yours once you’ve paid and have received a payment confirmation email. 

For non-instant payment methods like bank transfer or multibanco, bidding will close once you receive the bank or multibanco transfer details. This means the object is yours once you confirm that you will pay, but the seller will only ship it once your payment comes through. You need to pay as soon as possible as transfers can take up to 5 working days. 

When other buyers use buy now

Keep in mind, the buy now option on an object will be available to everyone. So if you’re eager to get your hands on something, it’s a good idea to buy it early.
